Here at the Campbell Center, we want to take a moment to express our deepest condolences over the senseless death of George Floyd. We share the pain and anguish felt by many that has sparked protests across the nation to end generations of injustice and discrimination.
As an equal opportunity organization, we are dedicated to supporting those who are often left behind. This movement strikes at the very heart of our mission and purpose.
We lend our support to those who are in peaceful protest speaking out against the injustices of our society as we persist in our communal efforts to help those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
As advocates, we know the best way to enact change is to get involved and lead by example – to have the courage of our convictions and the ability to listen, to educate ourselves about policies and the will to enact reforms, to provide resources to those in need and to share the voices that have been silent for so long.
We are inspired by our nation’s unity in outrage and are encouraged that this generation may bring about the change long overdue.
To everyone on this march: we are with you every step of the way. Let us walk together and work together to form a more peaceful and just society for all.
